The Chicago Fusion Theatre’s mission sets out to present a “diversified” group of performers to the public while fusing genres, mediums and styles. This time around they bring Las Hermanas Padilla to the stage of the DCA Storefront Theater on Randolph Street. The play, which has an all female cast, was written by Tony Meneses and directed by Juan Castenada. The 10 women recount a war-story from–the lesser know–wives’ perspectives. History is no longer only the story of manly men in this (can we call it epic?) tale of women finding solace in each other while the husbands are at war. Some are calling it Brechtian in nature. See it.
