Now in its third year, establishing itself as a summer tradition in Chicago, Festival Cubano is the largest festival of its kind in the U.S. Thousands of attendees from all over the country come together to celebrate Cuban culture in one fun filled weekend.
Festival-goers will enjoy local & international musical talent, food from Cuba & Latin America, arts & craft booths, carnival games and a Domino Tournament. The kiddies will also have plenty to keep them entertained with a Kids Zone that features a petting zoo, magicians, clowns and an interactive bilingual storyteller.
Those who aren’t yet fluent in salsa can take FREE dance lessons provided by instructors from Chicago International Salsa Congress (CISC). Festival-goers can then show off their new moves by participating in Festival Cubano’s Salsa contest hosted by CISC.
Festival Cubano will feature performances byt: Cuban Salsa & Timba sensation Issac Delgado, whistling virtuoso and Salsa Romántica creator Jose Alberto “El Canario”, tribute band Celia Cruz All Stars, the legendary Machito Orchestra, Mambo Maestro Tito Puente, Jr., rising star & Cuban pop singer, Madai, and singer Marlon Fernandez, third season winner of Objetivo Fama. They’ll also take us back to the 90’s with Cuban born Spanglish rap innovator, Mellow Man Ace, legendary House DJ Julian Jumpin’ Perez, and Chicago House Music pioneer, White Knight.
