Latin rock band Making Movies are releasing their new, CD In Deo Speramus, at The Cobra Lounge this Sunday. The album was recorded live, and features five songs in English and five in Spanish.
at he band’s members hail from Kansas City via Santiago, Panama City and Guadalajara.Â
Panamanian-born, Kansas City-bred lead singer Enrique Chi grew up jamming with his family to artists such as Juan Luis Guerra, The Police, Peter Gabriel, and of course, fellow Panamanian Rubén Blades. From those early sessions, Making Movies evolved into the bilingual, cosmopolitan pop-rock group it is today. The band’s debut EP, Tierra Firme, came out in 2008.
