Luna Negra Dance Theater is celebrating Mexico with a passionate and colorful program revealing the complexity and richness of the country’s cultural influence on contemporary Latino choreographers. The troupe will be presenting the world premiere of Paloma Querida by Michelle Manzanales, inspired by the art and life of Frida Kahlo, Quinceañera by Eduardo Vilaro, and Plight by Edgar Zendejas.
Luna Negra’s repertory includes original works by Cuban-born founder and artistic director Vilaro, as well as by acclaimed Latino choreographers Ron DeJesus, Vicente Nebrada, Gustavo RamÃrez Sansano and Pedro Ruiz.
