Free Dubwiser: New Mixtape
Marcelo Tijerina alias Mexican Dubwiser is at it again. This DJ from Monterrey by way of LA has just released a new mixtape titled Mexican Dubwiser Presents Vol 1.SONIDOS DE HOY Y SIEMPRE, and it’s a very fresh approach, refurbishing modern-day classics with the melancholic hook of yesterday’s tracks.
This electric pastiche of cumbia mixes a real ‘movido’ yet dark collection of unexpected tunes. From Calle 13 and contemporaries to old-school classics like the 70’s Chilean bolero group Los Ángeles Negros.
Check out the haunting track “Adoro Una Vez (Mexican Dubwiser Mashup)” by Selena VS Bronco. You’ll do a double take as the voice of slain Tejano music queen emerges from Bronco’s lead crooner’s echoes. To get your cumbia fix straight away listen to “Fosforito” by DJ Vadim meets Mendoza. DJ Vadim blazes the ” fosforito” in this one infusing his signature swing into the mix.

Okay, I checked the mix out and I didn’t like it. The whole cumbia mix is not for me!! The only thing that sounded familiar was the Selena track. Over all I give this mix of cumbia two thumbs down.

Music always dominates, grrrrreat beats is all I came across these tunes, keep posting that good stuff. I love music and listening to something new and fresh other than the played out stuff on radio is much better. Two enthusiastic thumbs up =)
