The nine members of Canteca de Macao love four things: reggae, ska, flamenco and spoonerisms (nat a whame!). Catch the US debut of this Madrid band this February 12 at Green Dolphin. The Cantecas will be playing selections from their new CD, Agua pa’ la tierra, where they combine flamenco with rumba, rock, punk, salsa and jazz, among other rhythms, and deal with life, the planet, water and wine.
Oh, right, that’s six things: Earth and wine. Bonafide Spaniards, those chavales.
NOTE: Click here for more info on the event. This is a standing room event with limited seating at tables.
